Q: I think this one will be a state funeral too... http://www.thedesertsun.com/news/stories2004/local/20040630005729.shtml Chris "Our long national nightmare is over..." Hansen

A: FWIW: My last stint as a volunteer in a major political race was Gerald Ford's 1976 campaign. One of the more memorable events was the Saturday I spent riding a campaign bus around Nashville's suburbs, stopping at shopping centers to hand out campaign literature to passersby. Three or four people from Georgia were along for the ride, holding signs and handing out leaflets decrying Jimmy Carter's tenure as governor of the Peach State. As it turns out, four years later I did end up voting for Carter, but it was a last-minute decision (Nader sympathizers, take note). In the 1980 election I had John Anderson bumper stickers on my car and (when appropriate) John Anderson campaign buttons on my lapel. To be honest, it wasn't until I was ready to mark the ballot that I decided to be pragmatic, bow to the Electoral College system, and cast a vote for Carter rather than Anderson.
