However, with the primary concern of making their appearance look good and suitable for society, most do not take the time to learn about the dangers of rapid weight loss. Diet pills and dieting are the two most common ways of losing weight. Diet pills are usually used for losing excess water in the body and to keep from getting hungry often. The loss of excess water will allow you to lose some weight but that weight will usually return. The dangers of losing water from your body are dehydration or the loss of essential minerals that your body has to have to remain healthy. Eating less is also dangerous. A low calorie diet, less than 1,000 a day will have some harmful affects on your body. Unfortunately, eating less can cause our bodies to believe it is starving. When this happens your metabolism will slow down to conserve energy. Your metabolism is important because it is the chemical processes occurring within a living cell for the maintenance of life. Another danger of a low calorie diet is the loss of blood sugar. Your brain and nervous system needs blood sugar for energy. When you are not eating enough for your body to have this, it will get this by breaking down the protein in your body. This causes a loss of protein tissue. Bone mass and lean body tissues are also lost from eating less. When lean body tissues are lost, it increases the percentage of fat stored in your body. This will also reduce your metabolism, making it easier to regain weight. Repeatedly losing weight and gaining it back can increase the risk of heart disease. There are effective ways to lose weight without damaging your body. You may not see the results with your body in 10 days but I am sure you will feel the results. Learning to eat right and exercising regularly will help you feel better. This will also help you to reach your weight goal within reasonable time. If you are very concerned about your weight, please talk to your doctor before dieting or exercising.
