Ultimate Electronics, Inc. is a popular specialty retailer of home entertainment and consumer electronics products. Ultimate Electronics was founded in 1968 by Bill and Barb Pearse. It had slow but steady growth during its early years and by 1993 it had grown to nine stores and became a public company on October 15, 1993. In 1997 Ultimate Electronics merged with Audio King Corporation that allowed it to expand into Minnesota, Iowa and South Dakota. Today the company operates 65 stores in 14 states including stores in Arizona, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas and Utah, and Colorado. It also operates under the trade names of SoundTrack. And Fast Trak, Inc. Fast Trak Inc. is an independent electronics repair company based in Colorado and a wholly owned subsidiary of Ultimate Electronics. The company offers a wide range of products and their emphasis is on selling mid to upscale products. Ultimate Electronics provides a selection of brand name consumer electronics and extensive range of customer services. Their stores also feature displays of multiple home theater and audio demonstration rooms. One of their key selling points is that they always match the lowest prices of its competitors. Ultimate Electronics also tries to do its part to be a good corporate citizen and to give back to the communities where they operate.
