Should I Take Online Masters Degree?

Q: I graduated from college in May of 2002, and haven't had much luck in finding a job. Thus, I was thinking about going to grad school, but since my GPA was kind of low, my options might be pretty limited. I've seen advertisements for online Masters degrees, and was just wondering if anyone has any experience obtaining their degree through an online program, and whether or not this carries much weight in terms of finding a job.

A: The online master's degrees don't have much of a reputation; they're not highly regarded. You'd be better off applying to a traditional master's program, but maybe you should look more closely at your career search. Depending on what your major was and what field(s) you're trying to break into, you should have work experience before going for a master's. Otherwise, you're a very expensive job applicant with little work experience. You should go to a regular university and get a quality education
