I Need An Online "economical" Ba Or Bs Degree- Ideas Please.

Q: I have looked into a few online Degrees and their costs are astronaumical. University of Phoenix didn't bat an eyelash at telling me I should go over $20,000 in debt to get their poorly constructed IT degree. $300+ per semester hour for on-line education borders upon consumer fraud. Business with an IT enhancement or some garbage like that. One class is $1500 dollars for some trash about "Orienting yourself back into a learning environment." Two classes are wasted on Statistics. I haven't used statistics in any workplace twice in 15 years. I need some place that is Accredited, will give me full credits for at least my lower level credits, some kind of credit value at upper level for having been a Computer Consultant for over 13 years, and a degree that IS NOT Programming or Mainframe Based. My work experience and passion has been all PC's and now the Internet.

A: Run a Power Search through the archives of this NG using the keyword "computer". This issue has been discussed at considerable length in the past. Also, read through past posts relating to Regents College (www.regents.edu), Thomas Edison State College (www.tesc.edu), and Charter Oak State College (www.cosc.edu). Finally, after all of that heavy reading, feel free to come on back and post on anything that isn't clear. Good luck, and you can certainly find solid alternatives that are far cheaper and far less watered-down than Phoenix. Take a look at Governors State University. They may be the quickest and most economical route for you. You only need to take 15 hours from them (or the other BOG campuses). You can probably do their program in a semester and it should cost you less than $1500.
