Continuing Education For Nurse

Q: I am a nurse practitioner/researcher who is offering continuing education for nurses and other health professionals on a new website called "ALLWISE" (www.allwise.com). I am interested in hearing from women about their experiences using various hormone treatments (estrogen pills, patches, injections, progesterone, testosterone etc.) to manage their menopause. I want to include these experiences in the education of nurses because I believe that women's voices are not heard or validated in the current health care system. If you would like to share what you have learned through your personal use of these drugs, please come to the ALLWISE website at www.allwise.com. You will find instructions for how you can share these experiences on line

A:Have you ever considered that women can "manage" their menopause without pills and patches, etc? If you haven't, then perhaps "ALLWISE" is on the best name for your organization. How about broadening your horizons and save all that drugging as only the last resort, considering how experimental and controversial it all is in the first place. We have found that just education with FACTS, not factiods, and the support that women know that they are not alone in this process will make enough of a difference that they do not even need to consider pills, patches and medicalization of this time in their lives.
