Door?
Q: What rights does a debt collector (credit agency) have when knocking at the door? What rights do I have if he/she puts there foot in the door or doesnt leave my garden?
A: No more rights than anybody else that knocks on your door. Stamp on their foot or kick their shin they will soon remove it. You can use reasonable force to remove trespassers (which they become if they refuse to leave when asked) . - I understand the problem will not vanish! The (threatened) bailiff will be sent via a Credit agency due to me defaulting on my Student Loans. Im willing to pay but I will NOT MAKE any payments to this certain Credit Agency because when a female representative of the Credit Agency rang my girlfriend she was rude & laughed down the phone when my girlfriend asked what the call concerned. She obviously had a bad day & thought she would wind my girlfriend up (my girlfriend thought I was having an affair). I have wrote to Student Loans Co & complained. I explained I will only pay direct to Student Loans or another Credit Agency not associated to this certain Agency - still waiting for a response! - Doorstep debt collectors and bailiffs are not the same thing. Bailiffs operate under the instructions of a court, and enforce debts that are due by law, such as fines and taxes where a judgement has been awarded against the debtor. A bailiff will be able to show proof of this. Doorstep debt collection agencies that follow up ordinary commercial bets, such as loans and credit debts, will often be employed by commercial finance
