Prozac Side Effects ?
Q: i recently experiences a bout of severe depression and was given
prozac. I used this for about one week and the depression seems to have
mostly lifted but the side effects are aweful..
A:i foolishly took st johns wort one night in an attempt to help me sleep and
the two drugs reacted causing major anxiety and a hyper feeling that lasted
two days. that has gone now - i think i was lucky i was not killed by
serotonin syndrome.
I have read that prozac has a fairly long halflife (2-4 weeks) after
discontinuation but would like to know if anyone else has experieneced the
above side effect, if so how long did they take to go?.
i have not been taking the prozac for 4 days now and am panicing incase the
side effects do not go away or that i have physically damaged my brain due
to the drug interaction.
well let me say right off you're doing very well ,
when you consider it takes four to six weeks before the effects of this drug
are noticable
so i guess i would address what's all in your imagination
It sounds to me like you didn't give the Prozac time to work. One week is
not enough time to evaluate the effectiveness of Prozac. Also, adjusting
your meds on your own without a doctor's supervision is not a good idea.
