Business Degree From Online South University, Ivy League Bachelors Or Regular Mba, (ebs, Heriot-watt)

Q: I put it to you. What is better. A Management bachelors from an ivy league school in the UK, or a DL MBA from Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University? I'd like to know your personal opinions as well as from an employer's view.

A:Wouldn't it be wonderful to be able to take 100 people, and send 50 through the EBS MBA and 50 through a Bachelor's in management from -- well, whatever "ivy" equivalent you have in mind, and then interview them after 5 and 10 and 20 years. My prediction is that you'd find many in each group who were very happy and some in each who were not happy. People do degrees for two reasons: the knowledge and the credentials (and, often, some of each). The amount and level of knowledge in the MBA is probably more than in most Bachelor's programmes, so for some people, that could be important. And, of course, there will be some situations where an MBA is a job requirement. So I guess I'd lean toward the MBA -- except if it were me, personally, I'd really have to think long and hard, because I am drawn to more interactive programmes than the EBS MBA, and I do not enjoy taking major comprehensive all-or-nothing examinations. Here's a great Master's thesis research idea. Prepare two identical sets of CVs, except that one lists an EBS MBA and the other lists a Henley B.

A: , and ask a lot of HR people to rate them. The MBA, Master's of Business Administration, is the most frequently offered distance learning degree. The MBA typically consists of from 10 to 15 courses and takes the average part-time adult distance learner three years to complete.
