Credits ?

Q: Does anyone have any knowledge about a good online certificate or associate degree in accounting for people who already have college credits. There are so many out there and it is very confusing knowing which are the good, cheap and quickest to attend online. Doesn't University credits carry over to online schools?

A: - Some schools are very flexible about accepting transfer credit, some are not. You might want to check into Thomas Edison State College, Excelsior College or Charter Oak State College -- these are most often mentioned as among those most liberal about awarding credit for prior learning, through transfer credit or other means. Excelsior has associate degrees in business and a BS in Accounting; TESC has both associate

and bachelor programs in business administration with an accounting major. You might also want to check Indiana University's distance learning offerings -- http://www.indiana.edu/%7Eiude/frameset-courses.html - There is Athabasca University in Alberta Canada at www.athabascau.ca . It has many accounting courses and programs. What is nice is that you pay for the fees with a $1.50 on our dollar. So when you pay for the course at $500 per 3 credit course, you really pay about $300 American. It is a public accredited university and the degrees or certificates are recognized by the many accounting accreditation and certification agencies here. Give it a try.
