To Active My Credit Card ?

Q: how do i have a "good credit history " from my printable Credit Card Application to active my Credit Card ? I applied for a credit card (United Mileage Plus VISA) but I was denied due to a lack of credit history. The Bank representative told me that I don't have a bad credit but not enough credit history. I would like to know how long does it take to get a good credit history. What are the criteria of a "good credit history"? I applied 3 months ago, I got the answer from the bank today but since my application I used another credit card so my credit history must be better (never carry a balance), do you think I can apply soon for the same card and be approved? If I was denied by this bank, do you think I will be automatically denied from other bank?

A: -The criteria for "good credit history" varies from company to company so nobody can give you a straight answer. Some consider a year or two decent, some want 5 or more years on more than one account...it depends on the card issuer. -t's much more difficult to get a rewards card. Try applying for Capital One Platinum card. They give one to anyone. -Start with store credit cards or a gas station card. Do a modest amount of spending on the store/gas card and than pay off each bill in full each month before it is due. As a last resort, apply for a secured credit card. This will help build your credit record. -Anyone who lends someone more money than their credit history says they can afford is a fool. When I got my first credit card (a Visa), its limit was $500. It took at least a year before I could get a credit card with a higher limit.
