The credit card provider sends a statement to the customers each month that carries records of the purchases and total owing. The customer needs to pay the amount owing by a due date. However, it may not be necessary to pay the entire amount owing. He or she can pay a minimum proportion of the bill according to the terms and conditions. The customer needs to pay interest on the amount owing. This interest rate is usually much higher than most other forms of debt. A customer can do away with the interest charges if he or she pays the balance in full each month. Credits cards have two types- unsecured and secured. A secured card is a VISA or MasterCard for which you need to keep a definite amount of deposit in the bank. To make a purchase, you need to have adequate balance in your account. You cannot make purchase beyond your balance limit. In unsecured cards, you do not need to have a bank balance as such to make purchases. You can choose one of these two types of cards depending on your financial strength and requirements.
