Check Credit Report Online
Q: Does any one know of any sights online you can go and check your credit report for free? I tried the sights that were on tv and its all for the US only and most require credit cards to order
A: While they are 'required' to provide you with a copy of your credit report, by mail, free, they may try to sell you a rating number for fee. IMO you do not need to buy that. When you get your report, which I did after some 48 years in Canada, check carefully for even obvious errors. My current address (for the last 35 years!) was listed as 'Previous address'! Even though they managed to mail the report to me, at that 'Previous address'! I got that fixed. One account that I've had with a bank since August 1956 was listed as 'Too new to rate' (Figure that one out?). Apart from those errors the info was that provided by any financial institutions I've dealt with and was correct. .
