Can Start Until We Become More Proficient With This Pc-finance Integration?

Q: My wife and I are trying to use our pc to keep track of our personal finance. Nothing fancy, but just keeping our checkbooks, credit cards, have reminders of pending bills and so on. I have heard good comments about quicken, but is there a more simpler and perhaps free software we can start until we become more proficient with this pc-finance integration?

A: Quicken is excellent and simple to use and not all that expensive. You can probably find a free download but you will not be able to export the info and you will be doing twice the work. I say - go for it Quicken Basic costs about twenty dollars, and will do everything you want plus more. It has been around for a long time, and is outstanding for tracking bank accounts and credit card transactions. I have several bank accounts and about a dozen or more credit cards that I use very, very heavily. Once you absorb the learning curve, Quicken will make everything fall into place, more so than you could readily imagine. I've been using it since 1995. You won't find a better program for these purposes at any price.
