Answer Correspondence Course, Freya Aswynn's Correspondence Course

Q: I have heard of this course and I wanted to know if anyone on here has done it? What do you think of it? Is it worth someone's time and is there really a need for a course? Should you really have to pay for a course like this?

A:Freya Aswynn is a well known and very controvertial heathen. She has popularized the runes but scholars are unhappy with the content of her work. I notice that you don't have a prior posting history in alt.religion.asatru. Are you new to Asatru? If so maybe you should start with the general material on our faith rather than diving into this sort of specialty material from the gate. Runes are nice and all but in the modern world they are more a historical curiousity than a central theme in Asatru. The fact that you posted in ASCII is really telling on that front. For good beginner material in Asatru, check out the beginners course in www.asatru-u.org. On a completely different tack - Freya A isn't a rich woman. If you want to learn some fun stuff there are a lot worse ways to go about it then by spending twenty pounds on one of her courses. I bet she'll be paying herself minimum wage at it. Well the reason that I have post this is because I have heard about the course from someone who is new to Asatru faith and she told me of how Freya Aswynn guided her to the Bifrost bridge and how she has seen Odin. Its sound strange for someone to say that and coming from one that does not know any history about the faith that he or she is calling their own. I just suggested some books; most on history and to read the Edds; which she has not done. Can any one really think that there is an easy way to learn ones own beliefs?
