A: All-Clad by all means. We bought a starter set more than ten years ago and with near daily use it's still like new. We've added many new peices over the years. I've also used it commercially with equal success. If you want durable even heating cookware then this is the stuff. Yes, it's expensive, but you're only going to buy it once. Something you can't say about the cheap stuff. In the longrun All-Clad is cheaper.>Im in the process of buying some good cookware and would like some input Where do you get cast iron sauce pans? Aren't they a pain to clean? You can wipe out a skillet, but I don't think that works too well when you use a sauce pan to make oatmeal or pudding. Do you wash them with detergent while they're still warm, or what?
