Where To Get Cast Iron Cookware
Q: Does anyone know where to get decent quality (not neccesaarily top of the line) cast iron skillets etc ?? I bought two for my daughter at a local hardware store, under $25.00 for both. The older the hardware store, the better chance of finding them. Any help will be appreaciated.
A: While I haven't specifically purchased cast iron cookware from them, I have bought ALOT of things from Cabelas and have always been very satisified with both the service and quality of their stuff. The Army Store in my town sells a whole line of Lodge cast iron (nice, but inexpensive) cast iron cookware. Peppercorn and other fancy cookware stores out here in Colorado also sell cast iron, but you pay through the nose for it. I was lucky enough to be supplied with pretty much everything I need from my Mother who lives in Mississippi where cast iron abounds. (She even gave me her well-seasoned 30 year old cast iron fryer -- how nice is that!) If you can't find any cast iron cookware in stores where you live, the Lodge Cast Iron company apparently sells their cast iron product line over the internet.
