Saladmaster Cookware

Q: I do own a whole set of the Saladmaster cookware. It is a very good set of cookware. I was a little surprised about the price, but it is great quality. I bought mine over 20 years ago. It still looks new. Maybe a few scratches, but after all I have raised two children and that is my main cookware except for my iron skillets. I think the fact that the company is still around and in business over 20 years, says alot. And if you think about having something as long as I have had mine, it's well worth it.

A: I just attended a Saladmaster demonstration and was amazed at how expensive it was. It seems like a great product but is hardly worth a couple thousand. Does anyone have Saladmaster cookware and if so, do you like it? WHERE, OH WHERE, did you find it??? My mom use to sell Saladmaster when I was a kid (over 40 years ago). She's gone now and I still have one of her pans (a saucepan with the lid). I tried to contact Saladmaster, but they acted like they didn't want to sell me any. I know it's expensive now, but it is WELL worth it! My mom use to have to put on dinners for people (we didn't get any) :{ I do remember she made Swiss Steak (made in their electric skillet--sis has it) ...something else and something called a "Rainbow Salad" (using their shredder/chopper thingy--my other sister has that). I'd give my eye teeth for their salad recipe too! If they still use it and you might have gotten a copy, I would be indebted to you forever. Nostalgic, I guess. If you have any info on Saladmaster (how/where to buy it), I'd be TRUELY thankful! Basically same as Lustre Craft Lifetime... you can try the person I bought mine from, her name is Becky (813) 503-6388 (she's based in Florida - where they make the stuff). I have looked at all the "similar pans" and these are the nicest I have found. About $1100 for the basic set with a skillet and salad maker and slo cooker thrown in. tell her I said hi, she's really quite nice.
