Requesting Opinions On Cookware

Q: My fiance and I are getting ready to register for gifts and we are set on getting a good set of cookware. We've narrowed (if you could call it that) our selection down to 4 lines of cookware and wanted some more info from people who actually have experience with them. Our Requirements: Durable (we plan on having these for many years) Metal Handles Preferably dishwasher safe Easy to maintain (no copper) Heavy gauge metal The contestants: All-Clad Saintless Cookware All-Clad LTD Cookware Calphalon Commercial Hard-Anodized Cookware Calphalon Commercial Nonstick Cookware A few Questions: Are the Calphalon truely not dishwasher safe? Do you find yourself using mostly stainless and nonstick occasionally? *Please do not flame each other for their opinions on the different types of cookware.

A: I too think that the All Clad is the best choice. If you talk to professional chefs their most frequent choice would be the same- All Clad. I'm not talking about the non-stick but the regular type. The heat dispersion, warp resistance and balance are the best. The rivets on other brands just don't compare. John from Albany I think, therefore I am...........Dangerous. I bought a set of heavy gauge SS pots and pans from Costco for $189. Here is a description: Tri-ply cookware is made by permanently bonding a layer of aluminum between two layers of 18/10 Stainless Steel. 11-piece set includes: 2-quart saucepan; 3-quart saucepan; 8-quart stockpot; 8.5" skillet; 10" skillet; 5.5-quart saute? pan; steamer insert that fits 3-quart saucepan, and 4 lids that easily accommodate all sizes.
