Need Wolfgang Puck Cookware's Phone Number
Q: I'm trying to put together a Wolfgang Puck cookware set as a present for my girlfriend. (She's a great cook but for years has been stuck with poor hand-me-down pots and pans.) [ TIME-OUT: I know I can't control the Usenet, but still I would like to make an earnest request. I *really* don't want this post to give rise to a holy war over what's the best cookwear out there. I have a few WP items that I bought at a yard sale and both I and my girlfriend find them great, so for this present I have decided to stick with WP. If you'd like to start a dialogue on the relative merits of WP stuff and other brands, I would love to take part in it, but I beg you to start a separate thread. ] None of the several sets offered at the Home Shopping Network (HSN) have exactly what I'd like to get (my girlfriend and I cook together all the time, so I have a pretty good idea of what she'd want and what she'd not care for). One of these sets comes pretty close, though. I want to get this set and supplement it with the few things it is missing (a 10" square grill pan, an 8" non-stick omelet pan, a 3-qt covered saucepan, and a double-boiler insert for the 2-qt saucepan). I've called HSN about buying these things separately, and their reply was a bit outlandish: A) They sell many WP items separately, but only if the customer happens to have the item number; most of these item numbers are not listed online because they claim they have so many that "they would overload the internet" (I had to bite my tongue not to point out that this justification was ridiculous). B) If a customer buys a WP cookware set, then, and only then, HSN will give this customer a phone number for Wolfgang Puck Cookware, and the user can buy directly from them; they will not release the phone number otherwise; again, I refrained from pointing out that this was ridiculous (though not as ridiculous as their fear of overloading the internet). I have two questions: 1. does anybody know a phone number for Wolfgang Puck Cookware? 2. Does anybody know of any other source that would sell Wolfgang Puck cookwear items separately? Thanks!
A: I'm sorry, Kim, I should have mentioned that I had already checked out that site. There is no contact info there, certainly no phone number, and they have very few individual items for sale. The only way to find out what items they do have for sale is to type things into their search engine and see what comes up. Very little. For example, if you type "pan" in their search engine, instead of being inundated with items (I know WP makes many types of pans), only 5 show up (a 10" uncoated omelet pan, a lasagna/roaster pan, a 12.5" inch "everything pan" casserole, 14" stir fry pan, and a 12.5" round grill pan). If you try "saucepan" you get nothing. If you try "boiler" (hoping for double-boiler), again, nothing. Nor are there individual items for sale or any contact information at www.wolfgangpuck.com. They have a form to fill out that will supposedly reach their customer service department, but I sent one in last week, and I have not yet heard from them. Honestly not intended as sarcasm, but did you look under contact? Or are you confusing it with Wolfgang's main site, which I agree doesn't have one.. On the contact page: ...reach our customer service Monday through Friday 9:00am-4:30pm EST at 1-800-275-8273 And you can click on open stock to see what's available without using the search engine. I agree there's a limited selection there.. You could try the 800 number to see who else sells their stuff anyway. From what I saw searching, sams club and walmart sell some of it Also, dunno how anti-HSN network you are after their being so obnoxious, but here's a website that seems affiliated with them that has a much broader range of available stuff (including saucepans) to buy online http://shop.infomercial.tv/cooking_and_kitchen/wolfgang_puck/ there's also ebay, of course... Good luck.
