Farberware Millenium Cookware

Q: I bought my wife a set of Farberware Millenium Cookware for Christmas. I would like to get some idea if it was a good idea. So what are your experiences with it? My wife thinks Revereware may be better. Thanks for all the help and sharing.

A: I'm a fan of Revere Ware, but that's just because my mom has used it for 50 years and I've used it for (goodness!) 20. In all respects, I think Farberware appears to be about the same as the Revere. They have similar handles (which I find quite comfortable) and similar weight. I can't see any reason why this would be a *bad* gift :-) If they are the non-stick, make sure you keep the receipt in a safe place. I received three pieces as a gift years ago. On one pan the non-stick is scratched. When I checked into the warranty I was told that the pan had to be sent to different places depending on the year of purchase and that I had to have a purchase receipt. It had been a gift so I had no receipt and I wasn't sure what year I had received it. Other than the scratches on one pan they have been ok cookware. I've got a Farberware set that's at least 20 years old and fully functional to this day. Only thing is I have to tighten the handles on em' every few months but this is small price to pay when I see the prices on decent cookware these days.
