Costco Cookware

Q: Just wondering what folks here on rfc think about Costco's stainless clad cookware. 12 pieces for $199. It looks pretty and sounds good. Has anyone bought and used them?

A: I'm looking for new cookware too. I like the fact that you can buy separate pieces at Ross, TJ Maxx, and Marshalls, because some sizes I use more than others. Cuisinart has nice looking heavy pans and they are less expensive at the outlets but still pricey. Does the costco set seem heavy? Are the lids glass? The costco tri-ply stuff is pretty nice, but the price has risen high enough to drop it from no-brainer status. Still it is nicely made, with somewhat delicate fastening of the handles to the cookware and somewhat short handles. The lids are not glass, but they do have a nice deep fit and domed shaped. I've posted in the past that the Martha Stewart tri-ply is just as good, but I've double checked. The MS line is nicely priced, but it is also a cut below the Kirkland (Costco) tri-ply set in terms of construction. I am thinking about the MS enameled cast iron cookware, however. This stuff looks terrific. If only there were a broader range of pieces
