Cookware Recommendation..?

Q: My wife is wanting to replace our eclectic mix of cookware with something new. We'd given T-Fal some thought but then saw numerous postings about problems with the lids and with separations. We'd certainly welcome some recommendations..........!

A: If you are serious about cooking, follow my mother's suggestion: buy the best and you'll never be disappointed. I love my Cuisinart utensils, but I am told that All Clad is as good or better. I also have a few pieces of le Crueset which I would sorely miss. However, neither of these lines is particularly "budget-minded." If, on the other hand, you are looking for quality "everyday" cookware, consider pots from Farberware, with copper plated on the bottom. They are indestructible, and I'm not easy on mine. I would be interested in your decision, and why you made it, whatever it is. Please define what you mean by "everyday" cookware. Do you mean "everyday" cookware is what you use for cooking on those days when you eat just barely edible stuff... you know, the everyday food.... and then there's your Sunday-go-to-meeting cookware for those occasional far-and-in-between more-important-eating-days... those few days each year when you eat the more palatable foods. Please give some examples of the crap you normally eat on a day-to-day basis that does not warrant pulling out your Sunday-go-to-meeting cookware.
