Calphalon Cookware Question?

Q: Hi, I thought this would be the best place to ask if anyone uses Calphalon hard-anodized cookware and how you like cooking with it. Does food stick or is it truly non-stick? I'm thinking of investing in the Dutch oven and have never used this brand of cookware. Thanks for any advice you can offer! Valerie

A: It's good cookware. If you want true non-stick then Calphalon has a line of non-stick as well and it is also excellent. Anodized aluminum is not non-stick. I don't see that as a problem personally but you shouldn't confuse the two. If you preheat your pans and keep cooking temperatures down, you shouldn't have problems with sticking with any pan. If you want true non-stick so that you can cook with no fat, then anodized aluminum isn't likely for you. Stainless Steel. The brand is not important, but the material is. SS will be very durable and is considered non-reactive. Glass and ceramic (Corningware) is also, but in general make poor stovetop cooking containers.
