Looking To Buy An Espresso Machine

Q: I am in the market for a good but reasonably priced espresso machine would like to spend under $400. Starbucks has an italian model Profi by estro for sell around $370. It has a grinder/dipenser built into the machine . It is pump driven and has a large refillable water reservoir that can be done for multiple brewing. I would appreciate any thoughts to this machine and price or others, especially first hand experience with these machines. Thanks.

A: No personal experience but another source for espresso machine is the Caffe Trieste. According to a recent *Comicle* article, the Trieste's roastery sells the La San Marco machine for $395. The Trieste is the sole distributor for this Italian product in California and Nevada. If you're interested, they are at 609 Vallejo Street in SF (Vallejo and Grant), 415-982-2605. When I get rich (hoo ha! who is she kidding?!?!), I want to get one for the spouse. Hell, at a buck a pop, we could pay for the dang thing in no time!!! We'd have to outfit the cats as counter people with attitude. You know, shave their fur, get them tattoos (I mean "body art"), put earrings in strange parts of their bodies, and dress them in tattered black rags. After all that, I'd snarl a lot too. Unfortunately, the cats all seem smarter than the counter zombies in our local coffee houses. I guess we could get them lobotomies, too. No sacrifice is too high for coffee culture!
