Celexa Generic
Celexa is a drug that is commonly used as an antidepressant. It is one of the more recent additions to this often over prescribed collection of anti depressants like Prozac, Buspar, and Paxil. As with all popular drugs, celexa in which the active ingredient is called citalopram also has a generic version. The generic version of celexa is called citadep. Citadep should not be used for people who are suffering from certain medical problems such as: kidney or liver disease, history of seizures, or a history of mania. If Citadep is taken with some of the other drugs that re on the market, Citadep drug interactions could be increased, decreased, or altered. You should remember to tell your doctor about any prescription or over-the-counter drugs that are currently taking or that you are planning to take, and make sure that you tell your doctor is you are taking and of the following drugs: Carbamazepine, Cimetidine, Erythromycin, Fluconazole (Diflucan,) Itraconazole (Sporanox), Ketoconazole (Nizoral), Lithium (Lithobid, Lithonate), Metoprolol (Lopressor), Omeprazole (Prilosec), Sumatriptan (Imitrex), Warfarin (Coumadin), or Other antidepressants such as Elavil, Norpramin, Pamelor, and Tofranil. Citadep generally offers mild to medium levels of side effects such as dry mouth, problems ejaculating, nausea, drowsiness, insomnia, increased sweating, and tremors. They do not sound so bad as if you compare these side effects to celexa. However safer, this drug may sound, you still have to consult a doctor before using or stopping citadep. You should also follow the same cautions when taking it, such as do not operate heavy machinery or take while breast feeding.
