Business Card & Logo Critique Please

Q: Long time lurker, first time poster here. I often see people requesting honest critiques of one nature or another. I figured I would ever-so-humbly ask for your honest critique myself. I am a graphic design student and recently decided to open a small business in my area. This isn't anything to become rich on, but make a very modest living. I created my own logo and designed my business cards. So far everyone who has seen it thinks it is "neat" but no other areas of improvement were suggested. I'll attach a jpg version and ask for every little detail be under inspection. I really appreciate any help, comment, or suggestion offered.

A: With a few minor changes, I think your logo will work on your target group (though you should ask yourself where you see your company in 5 years and then decide if you want to position yourself for a wider market - meaning a redo of your logo). The business card however - is really bad. You need to start over. What is the purpose with the card? Why the many fonts and font sizes? Why the disoriented layout? Why the green tag line? You have a great opportunity as a student - ask your teacher what the basics are when designing a business card. Take advantage of your studies - when your graduate you have to rely on your own judgement...
