Bead Conference, March 96, San Antonio?

Q: Does anyone know who to contact to get show information about the Bead Conference in San Antonio next March?

A: What bead conference? There's one in Houston on March 1-3 called Embellishment, but I don't know anything about one in New Mexico unless you are talking about the Tuscon show. I understand it isn't so much a conference as a buying spree, but I don't have info on that. Embellishment has 4 days of classes and lectures, but due to me haveing to pack and move all my stuff so they could put in new carpet, I don't have the info handy. If interested, ask, someone has it.

This is confusing because there are two major conferences in March and both are in Texas. The first one is Embellishment, sponsored by Bead and Button Magazine and promoted by Quilts, Inc. There are something like 90 different classes and a bazaar and conference lectures, etc. The dates for this show are March 1-3 and it will be held in Houston, TX. It is an excellent show and the classes are wonderful. The second show is Bead Expo '96 sponsored by The Center for Bead Research and Recursos de Santa Fe. This is more scholarly with more "serious" lectures as part of their symposium. There is also a bazaar and classes before, during and after the conference. This one will be in Austin. Both shows are wonderful for "bead" people. Both are well attended with wonderful goods to buy, great learning opportunities, and teachers who are experts in their fields.
