Q: Does anybody here know a website or two that offers autocad jobs that I can do from my home. I was recently laid-off from the small company I work for and now need something to help support my family. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
A: -Why do his reasons matter to you? Answer his question or mind your own business. -Hypocrite? This from someone who publicly advertises their own drafting as: "...the latest in drafting software... AutoCAD 2000i......" No, a drafting newsgroup probably isn't the best place to ask about drafting work. But slamming someone and making wild assumptions about them is just plain out of line. Noctyrnal - You need to qualify/specify what you draft. Integrated circuits? Mechanical assemblies? Buildings? Earthwork? Cable? Drafting --by and of itself-- doesn't mean you can do all of these; a drafter must know the field they're drafting in. Knowing AutoCAD does give you a head-start, but knowing what you're drafting is vital. Your best bet is to register with temp agencies, especially technical temps. Then look for people, firms, and companies that do the type of work you're familiar with. Your best chances are person-to-person contacts --it's harder than web stuff but it works more often.
