Q: Chase Credit Card Holders can bite you on your chase credit card account ? I have learned the hard lesson myself. Chase Credit card gives information of cardholders to associated vendors like: Perferred Travellers, AutoVantages and Essentials. The card holder receives small amount of check from them. In the check or with the check, there is explaination in small font which says when you cash the check, you will enroll their membership. It is NOT true: when a cardholder receives such a check, his chase credit card information is already in the vendor's hand. The vendor will charge you for the membership fee from your chase credit card account if you do not call them to cancel it in the grace period. So it is not enough to destroy the check, a chase cardholder should call the vendor and ask them to cancel the application remove the information from their AD database and remember to ask for case reference number. Chase credit card has a information block program. If the cardholder apply it, it will be valid in 3 months. The vendors which already have the cardholder's information will have no impact. They still can charge for some membership or service you never use or even you are not aware of at all. So ask the chase to give you all the past transactions and examine it carefully for sth. like service charge from AutoVantage or membership charge from Preferred Traveller. Maybe you were charged for years for some weird services which you never use. Here are some vendors which can bite you on your chase credit card account: Vendors Charge ------- ------ Preferred Traveller 79.95 Galleria 139.95 AutoVantage 99.99 Essentials 99.99 what do you think ?
