Accelerated BSN Programs ?

Q: I am a BA returning for my BSN looking for accelerated BSN programs. These allow students who already have a bachelor's degree to obtain the BSN in a concentrated time having completed certain prerequisites. So far I have only encountered such programs at the Univ. of Pittsburgh and Univ.of Michigan. If anyone knows of any others, i would GREATLY appreciate the info. I'd like to my options to be a little bit greater.

A:Creighton University in Omaha,NE has a program. I am not sure of the particulars but I believe you must have a BS or have taken the required science courses. I could find out the number if you are interested. Hospitals only care that you have a license, but should you decide to go to grad school the degree from Hopkins may have some weight. And it looks good on your resume. Go to the school that will make you feel the best. I havent seen a hospital that cares where you got your diploma from or what your marks were they just want to see your license. I vote for the cheapeast LNL accredited facility conveniently located to your hometown, whereever that may be. I graduated from

the Regents College External Nursing Degree Program (Albany, NY) with my Associates Degree in 1987, and then my BSN in 1994. The 7 year interval was entirely of my own choosing. All in all, I paid about $10,000 in fees for the combined degrees. I have never had an employer inquire about or comment on the institution that granted my degree, and have come across an increasing number of nurses over the years who also graduated from RC. I have yet to come across a hospital-employer that indicated that they would offer a higher rate of pay or position for attending a more prestigious school or nursing. Why blow the extra $20,000 unless there is some concrete benefits?
