X-FILES LAWSUIT!!! CC Accused Of Sexual Harrasment?
Q: What I'd really like to know is why was the lawsuit filed in LA? The
X-Files is produced in Canada, so does California even have jurisdiction?
The X-Files is produced both in Canada and L.A. The ALLEGED
incident (sexual harrasment) occured at the 1013 production office in
L.A. Hence, the lawsuit was filed in California.
A: First of all let me say that I love this show, and when I met CC last year he seemed a gentleman. However, if you consider the above information it rings of familiarity. Do any of you remember the posts about Mulder's xrated video collection, and someone pointing out that there was a stripper cast in one of the shows (I can't remember which one) and the sexual innuendo presented to us on the show??? Where do you think this comes from? It comes from the writers and the people in control of the show. I know it adds character to the show, and gives it a real quality because it is a part of everyday life but I don't think the writers threw it in as something off of the top of their heads - I think it reflects their personalities to some extent too. And with this in mind I wouldn't be too quick to jump to the conclusion that this accusation isn't without some substance. Sexual harrasment is common place in many parts of todays work environment and I say if it can happen at a small Elementary School, or a store, then in hollywood, which is ripe with power struggles, and overt sexuality, it is even MORE likely. I fully understand that this may be a money grabbing attempt. But I also have to say that this woman had a job.. probably a good one - and if it's for Fox then she probably made a decent wage. Why would she risk it all (and it would be *all* because once she opens her mouth she would be virtually blackballed within an industry which is highly protective
