Why A Projector Screen?

So you went ahead and did it. You took the big splash and jumped in the pool feet first and decided to upgrade your thirteen inch black and white TV to a full fledged home theater. You overhauled your entire sound system and purchased state of the art speakers and all the components that go with them. You decided on a nice projector and chose the best room for acoustics to fully enjoy movies. But there’s still something missing, isn’t there? It’s not any of the equipment because you put all the research into finding out the best system for both audio and visual components. And the room is set at an optimum level for watching movies. But there’s one thing you didn’t think about – a projector screen. Sure it looks pretty good thrown against a wall – the wall is white and doesn’t really take away from the display, but there’s just something that feels off. And a projector screen can make it right. A projector screen is designed to get the most out of the picture that is displayed against it. More than a simple white wall, the projector screen enhances

a picture and gives you the best possible quality. And of course there are many different types of projector screens out there and the right projector screen depends on the projector. Optimum performance can only be achieved when you look at both projector and screen and couple them together. Some projector screens can enhance the picture but some can actually detract. The other decision that has to be made is what will happen with the screen when it is not in use. Do you want to have a screen that comes out of the ceiling or is stationary that always stays stationary. This should be based on whether the room is simply a home theater or acts as a social room or any other kind of room.
