Why Aren't Lawyers Helping Us?

Q: Why aren't the lawyers helping some, by giving us information on the newsgroups?

A: -Because the vast majority of lawyers are assholes, that's why. And most of them don't seem to learn much in law school. I frequently have to correct their bad advice after I discover they don't know what the hell they are talking about after a trip to the law library. The purpose of licensing lawyers is to maintain the class hierarchy brought by their profession, not to provide quality legal services to the citizenry. Most lawyers are either incompetent (can't go to court, etc.), dishonest, greedy and/or all three. Weiss who posts here is an exception. He seems to be one of the few good guys who knows what he's talking about and is generous with his advice. Of all the lawyers I've known, I can count on one hand the number that were professional and competent, not greedy, lazy, etc. Use Nolo Press' publication-they will teach you how to represent yourself, if you have a reasonable amount of intelligence. Avoid lawyers at all costs, most will simply overcharge you for bad service and advice and often screw up you case. You can also avoid lawyers by keeping

your dealing crystal clear and enforcing them with deposits, payments in advance, your own contracts, etc. The bottom line is that we have a corrupt judiciary, politically motivated by the right and Bushitniks. We have arrogant judges who don't know the law. We have a justice system that only provides justice to the elite classes. Like the rest of the Country, the judiciary has gone to hell. -If you've dealt with a lawyer who is incompetent, corrupt, or otherwise not fit to practice law, it's your duty to report them to the bar association. If the only thing you're going to do is bitch, you are just as much a part of the problem as the lawyers you complain about.
