White Gold Belly Ring, What I Did Last Night - Navel Pierced!! ?

Q: Speaking strictly as a Mom, I think there should be a law that a person should have to pass a sobriety test before getting pierced or tattooed! Just out of curiosity, when you get jewelry for your new opening, does it have to be specifically navel jewelry or does a person generally wear a plain earring for this?

A: LOL!!! from what i do understand a "respectable" tattoo artist will not do a tattoo on someone who is drunk. from what i understand they are concerned about the blood flow, also with piercings. i had one drink (cape cod) before going in to calm my nerves. but it wasn't really needed. there was a guy there getting his tongue pierced. he was a BIG guy and in my opinion a bit trashed. he got very white and almost passed out after they did his tongue. i got a belly ring, which from what i understand comes in several gauges. my friend shannon's belly ring is a larger gauge than mine. mine is pretty petite compared to others that i have seen. we had asked for the same one she had and he accidently put in a silver one, so he took it out and switched it with one that matched hers, just smaller. it has a ball that holds it together. shannon is currently looking for a diamond charm that she can hang from hers. I got my bellybutton pierced at Taboo Tattoos in Deep Ellum January 99. It was right after my parents had gotten separated so my mother, my sister and I all got it done as a sort of 'bonding' experience! My mom has a gold belly ring with a little diamond on it that she had custom made (she works at a jewelry store in Richardson). Anyway, enjoy

your piercing and make sure you take care of it! congrats on the new navel ring. I just wanted to tell you that in addition to cleaning it with antibacterial soap, you can apply some of that stuff that you use on new ear piercings. I'd have to find my bottle to be able to tell you what exactly it is, but it's the stuff that you get at places like Claire's. I had my navel pierced in '96 but removed it when I got pregnant last year. Today I found the captive bead ring that I used to wear -- it's an 18 gauge 18K gold ring with a clear red bead and a dolphin charm on it. Now that the baby is here I'm thinking it's time to head back to have it repierced.
