Where Can I Learn HTML Online?
Q: A few days ago I started doing a tutorial on how to use
dreamweaver 4. I didn't learn much from it, and some people told me
that even if I did learn how to use dreamweaver 4 I would still be
better off learning html. so where can I learn html? I'd prefer a site
that has a downloadable tutorial, since I only have one phone line and
can't stay online all the time.
A:I think the best way to learn HTML is just to DO IT. Read and learn
as much as you can from tutorials (online, books, etc.) then sit down
at your computer and put together a page. You'll make mistakes, and
there are times you'll be frustrated beyond belief, but that's how
you'll learn.
Learn how to make your pages cross browser compatible. Make your
first pages simple and as you learn more complicated stuff expand your
page to include what you've just studied/learned.
If there are web page you like, and would like to emulate, download
and study the source code. You can learn a great deal from existing
web pages if you take the time to really look at them.
Stay away from WYSIWYG web editors, you won't learn a thing.
I'll also suggest that you keep copies of your first attempts at a web
page. Years down the road you'll look back and laugh, but you'll also
be surprised at how much you've learned!
