What Is Your Definition Of Sexual Harassment?

Q: What is your definition of sexual harassment? Give me a brief summuary of what you think it is? in the sence to where someone won't stop or does it start when they frist say some thing to make you feel uncomfortable.

A: Sexual harassment is legally confined exclusively to the workplace. It's a part of the claim for a "hostile work environment," which is a sexually charged atmosphere that's "extreme and pervasive." Sexual harassment may be one activity, but usually it's a pattern and practice of activities by one or more employees that an employer has turned a blind eye to. Now, sexually charged activities outside of the workplace may be otherwise actionable (guy grabs your privates, you can sue him for battery; guy continually berates you and tells you you're worthless, you can sue him for intentional infliction of emotional distress; guy keeps sending you threatening e-mails, you can seek redress under a stalker statute) but people misapply sexual harassment (and workplace harassment in general) all the time.
