What Constitutes Verbal Abuse, harassment In The Workplace?

Q: At my last job, my supervisor continued to cut me off while talking, grabbed my leg and told me to stop moving during a staff meeting and would tell me my questions at different workshops were a waste of company time. At the last workshop she told me I had to work during my lunch break. When I refused she threatened to write me up for insuborination. We had a one-on-one meeting the next morning where the abuse continued and I was ordered from her office. I resigned that day.

A: She is just a bad boss. However, if you worked during your lunch break, you better have been paid for it. If not, you have a case. And, in some cases, you have to be allowed so many breaks per so many hours of work -- check with your state wage and hour board. If you weren't paid for that time, contact the wage and hour board and ask what to do next.
