What You Will Find At An Army Auction

While many of the items sold at a traditional army auction are heavy duty weaponry not intended for use by the general public, the populace can feel safe knowing that these weapons have been disarmed or simply do not work and are merely offered for collectors of such items. War memorabilia and similar items have a large following as these Army auctions attract collectors from all over the world looking to get their hands on rare items. Those who are simply interested in modern-day military items or those just wondering what an army auction is all about are commonly found at these auctions also. With a wealth of people interested in military attire, many of the items found at these auctions are clothing related. Dog tags, coats, combat boots, t-shirts and camouflage pants all can be found at an army auction. Other items that may interest the general public include backpacks, sleeping bags and other objects that have multiple uses. Knives and the like are also commonly found at these auctions and attract quite a following of people as well, particularly collectors of Swiss army knives and bayonets. In fact, many of

the bayonets that are auctioned off are actually from previous wars and as such tend to sell for a reasonably high price. Other war memorabilia has been known to sell for similarly high prices. Buyers should be aware of the fact that some items are simply replicas though. While many army auctions are held in the traditional fashion, the Internet is becoming an increasingly popular option for auctioning off army items, particularly surplus items. Many of the same items are available, for instance bayonets and the like, but, with the exception of eBay, the market is much different for surplus army auctions. Many of these surplus items are sold overseas as opposed to the general public.
