Wedding Rings (longish) ?
Q: I don't wear mine to work because I don't want it or the "snugglie" to
fall of in a pizza. Plus it gets in the way when I fold boxes.
Travis doesn't wear his when he cooks or cleans.
I have always heard that it is baaaaaad if you don't wear the ring
forever. . .you know the tv shows where the ring falls in the kitchen
sink drain and the woman is afraid to tell the hubby because he will
get mad that she took it off.
I think that is BS. BUt people at work are shocked that I am not
wearing it. "It don't mean a thing if you don't wear it all the time."
Hmmmph. I just wondered what you all think about this. Do you wear
yours 24-7 or take it off sometimes? ''
A:Well, I wear mine all the time, except when it's really hot and my fingers
swell. Then I take off the engagement ring. It's 1.5 sizes smaller than my
wedding band so that in the winter, the band doesn't slip off and in the
summer, I can just wear the band. My fingers really swell. It's gross and I
hate it.
My sister is a mechanical engineer and when she got engaged, she wore her ring
all the time. Then one day, her had got smashed between these two metal
plates on a thing she was desiging and the ring got really damaged. She had
to leave it at the jewelers to be repaired for about two weeks, and her
finger/hand was cut and bruised.
Moral: If your work makes it difficult to wear you rings, don't. Just be
careful about where you put them when you take them off. If I was taking mine
off and on a lot, I'd be nervous about losing them!
1. Not wearing my ring when I'm dying my hair MEANS that I don't have
odd green or purple streaks in my hair (unless I want them there).
2. Not wearing my ring when installing new lamps MEANS that my cutie
isn't widowed early due to my electrocution. (Actually, Phil installs
the lamps -- and he'd better take his ring off for it.)
3. Not wearing my ring when scrubbing decades of accumulated muck from
portions of our fourplex building with caustic solutions MEANS that my
finger has a lower chance of developing weird rashes.
4. Not wearing my ring when doing serious cleaning that involves
climbing and balancing also MEANS that I have a significantly lowered
chance of catching the ring on something and ripping my finger off.
5. Not wearing my ring when doing cooking that involves lots of
handwashing and bread kneading MEANS that I stay in a much better
temper, resulting in a cleaner and happier kitchen.
6. Not wearing my ring in late stages
