Wedding Band Tattoo?
Q: My girlfriend and I have been tossing around various ideas about
formalities associated with marriage, and one of them is that I'd
much prefer to have a wedding ring tattooed on than buy a piece of
metal. Preferably her name in ornate script.
Neither of us is tattooed or pierced -- she doesn't even have her
ears pierced.
questions:
1) Surely this idea didn't originate with me. Does anyone know of
it having been done before?
A:i've heard of and seen pictures of it done. I don't know where you are
located in the states, but Reverend Mad Jack (yes he is a registered
minister) in Chicago often performs non-denominational marraige ceremonies,
which include tattooed wedding bands. Usually tribal or celtic in
design, the pictures i saw looked impressive. Definitely the route i
would take if i ever found myself in such a predicament :).

I'm aware that it would probably hurt a good deal, being right there
on the finger bone ...
1. Most artists apparently don't tattoo the entire band around your
finger because the skin on your palm side doesn't take ink too well.
That leaves the top part of your finger.
2. A have a friend of mine who got a "bursting sun" tat from Ed Hardy
several years ago, on his middle finger. It supposedly had lots of
color--but now it's just this blurry green jagged circle. The guy told
me it's because your hand goes through so much movement and gets
roughened up and gets sunlight and all that.
3. If you and your partner are both currently in school, what sort of
work were you planning to get into later? While the general concensus
seems to be that co-workers and bosses don't seeem too bothered by
visible tattoos (especially on women), it *MAY* be a consideration
during the job application process. If you get a tat on your finger,
you may want to consider getting design narrow enough
