Verbal Harassment

Q: Verbal harassment??? harassment? me and my mother have never gotten along so this isnt some family feud that will go away. i am 21 i left my house when i was 16 bwcause of her alcoholism and bad smoking habits as well as the physical and verbal abuse. long story short since my osn has been norn shes constantly calling and emailing. i keep tellling her to leave me alone and to not email or call but she doesnt stop. and shes also getting family involved saying im making up the abuse me and my sister have gone through and that my dad has seen. i dont want her to affect tyson, my son the way shes affected me. im not a bad person i learned the one thing i dont want to be..her i know that i cant file for harassment because i was emailing her back. but i stopped a week ago and she still wont stop. can i put a harassment charge on her or a restraining order. i

A: If she blew up at you and won't leave you alone, she hasn't changed. You are right that your son doesn't need to see this behavior. Can you find out how she gets your info?? Do you have other family members who give it to her? Can you talk to them and let

them know you are trying to sever ties? I know it's hard to do. I've had to do it too. I was told I would have to move far away. Fortunately, I was able to move, and things got better for a while. It is easier being far away, but I know not everyone can do that. I finally just stopped talking to my mother. I had to hang up the phone on her. Luckily she didn't have e-mail, but it's easy to set her up in your spam mail. Do that. If you have caller ID, it will be easy to not answer when she calls. Otherwise, just hang up. She will eventually get it. She may blackball you to the rest of the family, but family tends to know about bad behavior and likely they know hers and won't judge you harshly
