Vector Marketing

The Vector Marketing Corporation is a direct sales firm that markets a line of kitchen knives and accessories of the highest quality. Vector Marketing Corporation is solely owned subsidiary of Alcas Corporation, which has been manufacturing Cutco Cutlery for the last 55 years and they are based in Olean, New York. Vector Marketing Corporation's annual sales are well over $200 million dollars. Vector Marketing U.S. is divided up into six different regions; northeast, midwest, eastern, southwest, western, and central America. This is only for management and administrative purposes. Representatives are free to market the kitchen cutlery products anywhere in the country. Most of the representatives that work for Vector Marketing are college students and recent high school graduated who sell knives in customer's homes. Vector marketing places thousands of ads in newspapers, direct mail, and posted advertisements across the country to recruit new representatives. They advertise high paying positions for students and high school graduates in the United States and Canada. Vector Marketing and recruitment has many different types of techniques that have generated a lot of controversy for the company. They have been accused of misrepresenting their base pay rate, as they

have said that representatives make about $15 an hour per appointment. Vector Marketing representatives are considered independent contractors such as Amway, Mary Kay, Herbalife and Avon organizations. When you start working for Vector Marking Corporation, you are required to purchase a discounted display of Cutco knives to show potential customers from their own pockets. There are a lot of new recruits who quit working for Vector for this one simple reason. A recent study of Vector representatives by the Wisconsin Consumer Protection Department recorded that out of 940 recruits, half of them made no money or lost money while trying to sell Cutco knives for the Vector Marketing Company.
