Used Truck Deals

A used truck can be a better deal than a new truck, especially if you are looking for something in particular or are considering the cost of a new truck. While some people would never consider purchasing a used vehicle for fear that you're only buying someone else's problems, consider these advantages of a used truck. If you purchase carefully, you could get just as much life and even greater value from the purchase of a used truck. Look for program or demonstration vehicles. If you're in the market for a used truck, start by looking at the program or demo vehicles. Most of the larger dealerships have these available, and many can trade with sister dealerships if you are interested in something in particular. Typically, these used trucks have been "used" very little. They've been serviced regularly and taken carefully cared for by the dealership's service department. Often, you can find program or demo vehicles that have only a few thousand miles (or less). They've typically not been smoked in and are in "like-new" condition. The exchange is that you get a significant discount on this particular used truck. Leased vehicles are another good buy for the person in the market for a used truck. Leased vehicles have also typically been serviced regularly and were only used for a specific period of time. They are usually still in good condition and the dealership that took these used trucks back after the lease expired have typically given the vehicle a careful inspection to be sure everything is in good working order before they granted the former lease-holder's release. While that's by no means a guarantee to the condition of the used truck, it does offer some assurance that the truck is in good condition. In today's economy, many people simply trade vehicles every few years. In many cases, this trade takes place whether the truck has been driven many miles and regardless

of mechanical condition. For the used truck shopper, that means that finding a used truck that still has a long life is easier than ever. Some people discard the idea of a used truck because of the lack of a warranty. Extended warranties are often offered as part of the sale and some used trucks still fall under the manufacturer's original warranty. Before you discard the idea of a used truck, consider the amount your new truck will depreciate the moment you drive it off the car lot. Compare prices (including the amount of interest you'll pay in financing charges for a more expensive new truck), and ask about warranties. You might find you a used truck is the better deal for you.
