Trillion Loose Diamond.
Q: I am a 19 year old female I have been a vegetarian for 2 years and I
have been intrested in Buddhism for a little over a year. I begain to
loose faith in the religon i had been raised with (christianity) and for
a while was very depressed. While in school we did a short leason on
Buddhism, just enough to peak my intrests a little. The problem is
that I live in a small comunity where there is about 20 trillion
differant coppies of the Bible but hardly anything on any other
religon. I have tons of research on buddhism but it all tends to tell
me the same thing. I like to learn everything I can about things I am
intrested in and i am still very curious. Does any one know any good
techniques for meditating? Is there any holidays or special
days????? And what do you do on them????
A:In fundamental buddhist meditation,it primary aim to leave aside
all worldly conditions and look back at our inner self.As the buddha said
in the Diamond Sutra,"all worldly conditions are like bubbles,a dream ,
illusion and electricity. One should give up the world gains and practice
meditation to understand inner self.So this will train we not to take
praise and blame ,criticism, honour, dishonour, gain and loss at a higher
wisdom ,without suffering ffom its manifold emptiness of such worldly
conditions
