Titanium Celtic Wedding Ring?
Q: Has anyone heard about titanium wedding rings, my fiance found the below web
site and i was wondering if anyone has heard about them before
A:I went to the website, and I think that it's pretty straight
forward. Titanium is a very strong metal, much stronger than
gold, and a titanium wedding ring was included in the movie "The
Abyss". They even sell an "Abyss" wedding ring on the site.
My understanding is that titanium rings are a bad idea in general.
Because the metal is so strong, it is impossible to cut a titanium
ring off of your finger. This may not seem like a big deal, but imagine
having an injury of some sort which causes your ring finger to swell up.
The normal ER procedure is to cut the ring off. Bad news for your
finger if your titanium ring won't budge.
This is true...and yet...we're not really concerned about resale value
of his engagement/wedding bands.....and they're "precious" in that not
too many people are walking around with titanium bands......they look
mostly like platinum....and his engagement band actually has a carat's
worth of diamonds in it, so there's value too....and the good part is
that for the size of his ring, we only had to spend maybe 1/2 of what we
would have spent on platinum. I'm not really of the school that holds
out for the "big, expensive" ring anyway----what's the point? It's
not like titanium is tin or aluminium or something......
