Tablet PCs Used In Law Firms?
Q: I have been working for a large law firm (IT dept) for a few months now and a big question amongst members of my team and the law firm itself is: Would a tablet PC be a good piece of hardware to purchase for a lawyer, legal aid, etc? We are wrestling with this question right now. I was looking for some feedback from the many people on this forum, to see if you have any feedback that could be useful when I'm making my case for the implementation of Tablets in our workplace. Any help, recommendations, etc. would be greatly appreciated.
A: I am a solo practice lawyer and founder of TabletLawyer.com. In my TabletLawyer capacity, I frequently speak at technology CLEs around the US, introducing lawyers to tablet technology and the wonders of OneNote. I will be doing a live presentation for microsoft.com on September 6 about tablet PCs and lawyers. I will post additional info on this as it becomes available. Frequently I give law firms online demonstrations highlighting the integration of a tablet PC into a law practice and offer the use of a demo tablet. I am finding that once lawyers see how tablet PCs can improve their organization and productivity, they are eager to adopt the technology.
