Smiling Lawyer In Boston Public???
Q: In the Boston Public/Practice crossover episode, I believe there was a subtle third crossover taing place. In an early episode of Ally, I remember this female lawyer who had this huge smile she would use to impress the judge and jury. Ally had this smiling contest with her. If I am not mistaken, she was representic the school in Boston Public. Am I right?
A: -No. The smiling lawyer on Ally (1st season) was played by Dina Meyer, perhaps best known as the female lead in Starship Troopers who wasn't Denise Richards.. I don't recall the name of the actress in Boston Public, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't her. -BP has snatched up (Ally McBeal) Billy's former assistant, and placed her as a teacher. That could make for interesting cross-overs, except for the fact that she appears a bit more *liberal* in BP. -I don't think she is the same character. She is simply played by the same actress. Am I right? -Yes. The her name is Gina Philips and she played Sandy [Billy's assistant] on Ally last year. However, now Gina is playing Jenna Miller on Boston Public. We just met her character a few weeks ago on the show, but she doesn't appear to be a new teacher. I've noticed that DEK likes to 'recycle' his actors and use them on his other shows. I like that.
