Silver Mother Ring, Sentimental Jewelry
Q: What is your favorite sentimental piece of jewelry and what is the story
behind it? Just curious! Mine are all of the earrings that I got from
Claires Boutique that my boyfriend bought for me (3 pairs for my bday and
one for our 6 month anniv).
A:My son is stationed in Italy and he sent me a ring for Christmas. It
has two stones, peridot and yellow topaz. His birthstone is peridot
and mine is yellow topaz.
I have an inexpensive small gold heart pendant that says "mom" inside
the heart. My son bought it for me when he was twelve. The other
sentimental pieces are those that came from my mother, a cameo, her
engagement and pinky rings, and two watches on chains.
A few things off the top of my head:
--a necklace made of beads and seeds given to me by the (ex-)wife of a
Navajo shaman I befriended whilst giving a paper at a conference in
Finland
--some silly (and some gaudy) necklaces I made with a old friend which
we used to wear to horrify our friends
--the sterling charm
