Should Wedding Rings Match?

Q: Should Wedding bands for the bride and groom match? Where does the engagement ring come into play here or is the engagement ring a completely separate item? Finally, On which hand (rt or lt) and finger does the engagement ring go?

A:As for matching sets..my fiance and I got rings that matched in a few aspects. They were both white gold, and they both had a "multi-rolled" look at least on part of them. What I mean by that, is that his ring looked like four perfectly round bands that had been fused together. My engagement ring had this look on either side of the diamond, but it was only two. On the sides, the two actually fuse to make one around the bottom and up to the other set of two. When I put on the band that matches the engagement ring, it looks like three on either side of the diamond, and two on bottom. We chose to go with a semi-matching set by accident, though. He picked them both out, looking only

at what caugt his eye. As for the engagement ring it is normally worn on the third finger of the left hand. Most people I know where the wedding ring closer to the hand with the engagement ring above it. During the wedding ceremony depending on your preferences the engagement ring can be worn on the right hand, by the MOH or MOB where is can easily be transferred to the correct hand. Alternatively you may leave it at home. I think it should be whatever you like best, as my philosophy holds the best tradition is the one you create for yourselves, I'm designing our wedding rings, so both my and my bride to be's ring will match but it is what works best for you
